CAMPINAS, Brazil (ICIS)--Copersucar plans to acquire US-based Eco-Energy to become the world's largest ethanol trader, the Brazil-based company said on Monday.
Details of the deal were not disclosed.
With the deal, both companies will account for a 12% global market share in the ethanol segment, Copersucar said.
Altogether, both companies will have a global supply capacity of 10bn litres/year, Copersucar said.
The deal is pending approval from US regulators.
