TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan-based producer Mitsubishi Chemical has reached an agreement with French car-parts maker Faurecia to develop bioplastics for automotive interior parts, the company said late on Monday.
Under the agreement, the two firms will develop biomass polybutylene succinate (PBS) by 2014, Mitsubishi Chemical said.
Faurecia aims to replace most of its car interior parts with alternative biomass bioplastics, while Mitsubishi Chemical produces and markets PBS, called GS Pla, Mitsubishi Chemical said.
