Malaysia’s Toray Plastics shuts two ABS lines for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Toray Plastics Malaysia commenced the maintenance of two of its acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) lines on 5 November, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The lines, having a capacity of 55,000 tonnes/year each, are expected to be shut for around one month.

Toray operates a total of six ABS lines in its facility in Penang state for a total output of 330,000 tonnes/year.

ABS is a resin used in the manufacturing of toys, consumer electronics, appliances, office equipments as well as in the automotive and construction sectors.
