LONDON (ICIS)--BP's force majeure on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and paraxylene (PX) at Geel, Belgium, has been lifted, a source at the company said on Tuesday.

This follows news that the company’s feedstock supplier had lifted its own force majeure across all xylene grades. The force majeure at BP was originally declared on 5 September.

The source added that customer allocation throughout the force majeure had been 100%, in any event.

BP's Geel facility has the capability to produce 1.33m tonnes/year of PTA and 631,000 tonnes/year of PX.
