LONDON (ICIS)--Praj Industries plans to set up a 10m litre/year second-generation bioethanol commercial demonstration plant in India, the Indian renewable energy technology firm said on Tuesday.

Praj expects the project to cost up to $30m (€23m). Ground-breaking is to take place early next year, it said.

“The engineering package is ready and Praj has signed an MOU [memorandum of understanding] with a customer for the location,” it said.

“Praj is in discussions with other strategic investors/partners for participation,” it added without disclosing where in India the plant will be located.

Praj Industries is headquartered at Pune in India’s western Maharashtra state.
