HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chemtura’s three chemical plants in New Jersey had their power supplies restored following last week’s Hurricane Sandy, the CEO of the US-based specialty chemicals firm said on Tuesday.

Craig Rogerson said that none of Chemtura’s workers were injured during the hurricane and the plants were not damaged.

“The downtime at those plants is not currently anticipated to have a material impact on the fourth quarter’s performance,” Rogerson told analysts during the company’s third-quarter results conference call.

However, Chemtura is worried about ongoing fuel supply shortages in the US northeast following the hurricane, Rogerson said, adding: “We trust that that situation will soon be resolved”.
