LONDON (ICIS)--European November solid and liquid epoxy resin (SER and LER) contract prices have increased because of temporary supply problems due to a force majeure at one manufacturer and because producers are seeking to improve margins, sources said on Tuesday.
The price of LER settled at €2,590-2,650/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE), up €50/tonne ($64/tonne), while SER prices have gone up by €20/tonne to €2,490-2,520/tonne FD NWE.
Supply is now stable and there are no shortages in the market. One buyer said that lead times have more than halved, a sign that Momentive's recently restarted LER plant at Pernis in the Netherlands is at full capacity.
