CAMPINAS, Brazil (ICIS)--Ashland has appointed Jose Armando Aguirre as commercial director of performance materials in South America, the company said on Wednesday.
According to the US-based lubricant and specialty chemicals producer, Aguirre will replace Andrew Beer, who returned to the US to become global vice president of marketing and market development at the company's performance materials unit.
The company's new executive in South America said the growth of Brazil's middle class, as well as the strengthening of the nation's industry, benefit the company.
“Ashland performance materials [APM] has today a solid positioning within the South American composite market, which helps us to grow,” said Aguirre. “For 2013, our biggest challenges are to interpret the needs of the different segments which we serve, and respond to them more quickly.”
