HOUSTON (ICIS)--US October styrene contracts were still being negotiated this week, trade sources said on Wednesday.

So far, initial US October styrene contracts have been settled at a rollover from September to an increase of 2 cents/lb ($44/tonne, €34/tonne). Producers issued price increases of about 5 cents/lb for October, following the 20 cent/gal increase in the October benzene contract.

September styrene contract prices were settled at 75.25-79.25 cents/lb FOB (free on board), up by 1.50 cent/lb from the previous month.

Although October contracts have not been fully settled, producers have already issued November price increases of 6-7 cents/lb.

US styrene contract participants expect October contracts to be finalised by Friday.

Major US styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Westlake.
