Chems down as US Dow Jones Industrial Average drops 2.26%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chemical stocks declined along with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which fell by 2.26% on Wednesday.

At 1256 hours New York time (1756 GMT), the index was at 12,946.04, down 299.64 points.

Agricultural products supplier Agrium led the fall with a 9.59% decrease. Its stocks fell 10.28 points to 96.87.

Companies that fell more than 3% include Intrepid Potash, Foster Wheeler and Quaker Chemical.

Chemical majors also had drops as Dow Chemical stocks fell 0.66% to 30.32 and DuPont stocks decreased 2.11% to 43.61.
