SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Prosperity (Jiangyin) Petrochemical shut its 600,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Jiangyin city in Jiangsu province on 6 November for planned maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The shutdown, mainly for catalyst change, will take around half a month, the source said.
Meanwhile, the company will lower the operating rates at its downstream 210,000 tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chip unit at the same site to 60-70% because of insufficient feedstock supply.
The company is commonly known as China Hanbang Petrochemical, and is a subsidiary of China Chengxing Group – the largest phosphoric acid producer in ?xml:namespace>
