LONDON (ICIS)--Foster Wheeler has won a contract for work on Reliance Industries’ paraxylene (PX) project at Jamnagar in India’s western Gujarat state, the Switzerland-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Thursday.

Foster’s scope of work will include detailed engineering, as well as licensor coordination and procurement services for the new PX plant, it said.

The plant is part of Reliance’s multi-billion-dollar expansion of the Jamnagar refining and petrochemicals complex, Foster added without disclosing capacity or financial details.

ICIS reported previously that the PX project will have a capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year, with start-up planned for 2015.
