Russia methanol exports up, ammonia down in January-September 2012

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall exports of methanol were up year on year in January-September 2012, while ammonia exports were down, the Russian Federal Customs Service said on Thursday.

The country's total exports of methanol reached 1.114m tonnes in January-September 2012 – up by 25.7% year on year in terms of volume. The exports recorded a value of $321m (€250m) – up by 29% year on year, the agency said.

Meanwhile, Russia's exports of ammonia amounted to 2.197m tonnes – down by 28.2% year on year in terms of volume in January-September 2012, while recording a value of $997m – down by 27.6% year on year, the agency said.
