LONDON (ICIS)--BASF has halted production at two specialty catalysts facilities at De Meern near Utrecht, the Netherlands, because of safety concerns, the Germany-based chemicals major said on Thursday.

Production was halted on 6 November in consultation with Dutch authorities, BASF said in a statement.

BASF said that the measure was precautionary and there was no danger to the environment. The facilities will be restarted after approval by authorities, it added.
