France chemical production rises 1.9% in September from August

LONDON (ICIS)--France’s chemical production rose 1.9% in September from August, the country’s statistics agency INSEE said on Friday.

The increase came after a 2.7% decline in August from July.

Third-quarter chemical production for the three months from July to September was down 2.3% sequentially from the second quarter, the agency added.

France’s production of rubber, plastics and other non-metallic mineral products was down 3.0% in September from August, following a 3.7% increase in August from July.

France’s total manufacturing output fell 3.2% in September from August, following a 2.1% increase in August from July.

Third-quarter manufacturing output was up 0.9% sequentially from the second quarter, but was down 1.9% year on year from the 2011 third quarter.
