HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) exports for September were down by 5.5% year on year, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
ACN exports decreased to 43,665 tonnes from 46,189 tonnes in September 2011, the ITC said.
Year to date, exports of ACN have totalled 455,644 tonnes, an increase of 7.6% from the same period in 2011.
Top destinations for US ACN exports in September were Korea, Turkey and Japan.
The US does not import ACN.
US producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Material, Cornerstone Chemical and INEOS Nitriles.
