NOON SNAPSHOT – Europe Markets Summary

LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Tuesday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: Dec WTI: $84.91/bbl, down 66 cents/bbl. Dec BRENT: $108.18/bbl, down 89 cents/bbl
Futures fell further into negative territory during the morning session amid concerns over the impact of US and European economic weakness on oil demand.

NAPHTHA: $941-943/tonne, down $12/tonne
Assessed values decreased alongside weaker crude oil price. December swaps were assessed at $921-922/tonne.

BENZENE: $1,325-1,345/tonne, down $25-30/tonne
November opened lower this morning in a quiet market, as crude also lost some ground overnight. Nevertheless, the overall sentiment remains bullish. December was slightly backwardated at $1,310-1,340/tonne.

STYRENE: $1,480-1,510/tonne, steady
The market remained quiet, with many players attending the annual ICIS European Aromatics & Derivatives Conference in Berlin, Germany. The November range was so far unchanged.
