SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Nissan Chemical Industries is keeping the operating rate at its 50,000 tonne/year melamine unit at Toyama at 70-80%, a company source said on Wednesday.

“Whether to increase or decrease operating ratio depends on the market condition,” the source said.

Currently, there are no plans for a scheduled shut down this year, but the company plans to shut the unit in July 2013 for its annual maintenance, according to the source.
