US October Producer Price Index for finished goods dips by 0.2%

HOUSTON (ICIS)—The US Producer Price Index for finished goods dipped month on month in October by 0.2%, the US Department of Labor said on Wednesday.

The decrease follows advances in September by 1.1% and by 1.7% in August.

Crude goods showed the greatest rate of growth, at 0.9%, followed by foods at 0.4%. Energy prices were down by 0.5% and intermediate goods were down by 0.1%.

Excluding energy and food, the index was also down by 0.2%, following no growth in September.
