SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's JX Nippon Oil & Energy may restart its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Kawasaki this weekend after completing repairs at the unit, a company official said.

The cracker was shut on 9 November to rectify some mechanical issues discovered at the unit during a recent prolonged maintenance from 13 August to 10 October.

Prior to the 9 November shutdown, the cracker was operating at 100% since 11 October, the official said.

The Kawasaki cracker is likely to operate at full capacity once operations resume, the official said.
