SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s largest refiner JX Nippon Oil & Energy may extend the maintenance period of its two fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) units in Negishi, a company source said on Thursday.
Each of the two FCC units can produce around 85,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
“We may prolong the turnaround of our Negishi FCC units,” the source told ICIS.
The company’s No 2 residual fluid catalytic cracker, which was taken off line in early October for a 40-day turnaround, is still shut, the source said.
Its No 1 fluid catalytic cracker, meanwhile, was shut down at around 20 October for planned turnaround of the same duration, the source said.
