HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) October domestic delivery (DEL) contract prices moved up by an average of 3.28 cents/lb ($72/tonne, €56/tonne) on higher feedstock chemical-grade propylene (CGP) contract prices, market sources confirmed on Thursday.

The November CGP contract price settled up from October by 4 cents/lb, despite a late push from buyers for a lower settlement.

The November propylene contract prices had initially been nominated up by 5 cents/lb and 7 cents/lb by separate producers.

Ammonia prices had also increased during October, which helped push up ACN DEL contract prices to 95.48-99.48 cents/lb.

Free on board (FOB) export contract prices for ACN were lower on the back of lower export spot prices during the month of October.

Those prices moved from 79.15-82.55 cents/lb to 76.88-80.29 cents/lb.

North American producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Chemicals, INEOS Nitriles and Unigel.
