SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangxi Ganliang Technological Development plans to build a 10,000 tonne/year butyl acrylate (butyl-A) plant as well as a 5,000 tonne/year 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) unit at Fuzhou city in Jiangxi province, a company source said on Friday.
The company will invest yuan (CNY) 38.6m ($6.2m) in the two units, which are expected to come on stream in 2013, the source said.
An environment impact assessment is currently being carried out at the site of the new plants with construction expected to begin by this year, according to the source.
Further details of the project were not immediately available.
Butyl-A is used to produce organic synthesis intermediates, adhesives, emulsifiers and coatings, while 2-EHA is used to make safety glass, synthetic lubricants and corrosion inhibitors in engine coolants.
