SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy restarted a crude distillation unit (CDU) at its 270,000 bbl/day Negishi refinery on 15 November following the completion of a scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
The 150,000 bbl/day CDU No 4 at the refinery which was originally shut on 6 October had been expected to restart on 5 November, but a delay in maintenance work resulted in the restart date being pushed back, the source added.
Meanwhile, the 120,000 bbl/day CDU No 1 at Negishi which was shut for planned maintenance on 22 October and was scheduled to restart on 16 November, remained offline, the source added.
JX Nippon Oil operates eight refineries in Japan with a total capacity of 1.61m bbl/day. This includes the 115,000 bbl/day Osaka refinery, which is operated as a joint venture with PetroChina.
