HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Praxair said on Friday that it has acquired Acetylene Oxygen Company (AOC), a distributor of Praxair industrial gases. Financial terms were not disclosed.

AOC distributes gas and welding products and has 24 locations in Texas, including four cylinder filling plants, Connecticut-headquartered Praxair said.

The transaction allows Praxair to expand its presence in Texas, the company said, following up on last year’s acquisitions of Houston-area National Alloy and Texas Welders Supply Company.

Praxair sells atmospheric and process gases and surface coatings in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Its products are used in several industries including chemicals, manufacturing, aerospace, food and healthcare.
