SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Kaiyuan Chemical restarted its 10,000 tonne/year crude glycerine refining plant at Huaian city in Jiangsu province on 20 November after a two-month shutdown period, a company source said on Tuesday.

The Chinese producer shut the crude glycerine refining plant for two months because of weak sales and local environmental issues, the source added, without providing further details.

The restart of Kaiyuan Chemical’s plant will have minimal impact on the glycerine market because its output volume is small and is used to supply regular customers only, a trader said.
