US Praxair to commission airframe coatings production line in China

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Praxair plans to commission an airframe coatings production line at its facility in ?xml:namespace>Changzhou, China, to supply aircraft landing gear manufacturer Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, the US-based industrial gases and surface technologies firm said on Tuesday.
The new line is expected to come into production next year, Praxair said.
Praxair is commissioning the line as part of a 10-year deal to supply Messier-Bugatti-Dowty with thermal spray coating services for airframes, it said.
“Through our advanced coating technologies, broad range capabilities in Asia, and global production excellence, we’re uniquely positioned to support Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s production of more environmentally-friendly aircraft components,” said Mark Murphy, president of Praxair’s surface technologies business.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Praxair’s surface technologies business applies metallic and ceramic coatings and powders to metal surfaces in order to resist wear, high temperatures and corrosion.By: Stefan Baumgarten+1 713 525 2653
