HOUSTON (ICIS)--The contract price of benchmark US Tampa ammonia for all December shipments decreased 5% from November, a source close to the negotiations said on Wednesday.
The settlement between fertilizer company Yara and its customers brings the contract to $685/tonne (€534/tonne) CFR (cost and freight), down $35/tonne from the $720/tonne November price.
The decrease for December is reflective of improved global supplies for ammonia, particularly in Asia, a source said.
The autumn application season in the US midwest is concluding, and fertilizer dealers were expected to apply up to 2m tonnes of ammonia on acres intended to be planted to corn and other grains harvestable in 2013.
