HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) spot prices rose to $1,530-1,575/tonne (€1,193-1,229/tonne) on the low end of the range on a confirmed deal, sources said on Wednesday.
Spot prices had moved to $1,500-1,575/tonne last week, having moved up from $1,440-1,575/tonne two weeks ago.
Market sources believe the price bottom was achieved two weeks ago and the back-to-back upward movement is an indication of better market conditions in the future.
North American ACN producers include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Chemical Company, INEOS Nitriles and Unigel.
