SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai Plastic and Chemicals (TPC) is scheduled to shut its 360,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) line at Map Ta Phut on 23 November for turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.

The maintenance period will last for 25 days, the source said.

TPC's other 140,000 tonne/year VCM line at the site will continue to operate normally during the shutdown of the bigger line, according to the source.

The producer's VCM output is reserved for captive use to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

As a result, the company is sourcing for VCM imports to make up for its production loss, market sources said.
