SINGAPORE (ICIS)—South Korea's Samsung Total has no plans to conduct maintenance works at its 1m tonne/year cracker in Daesan next year, a company official said on Friday.

The cracker is currently operating at 100% capacity, he added.

While Samsung Total relied on term naphtha supply for the second half of December, the cracker operator may seek spot open-spec supply for delivery in the first half of January, some traders said.

However, most end-users are not in a hurry to secure spot supplies given the falling premiums at a time of rising deep-sea inflows, they added.
