Taiwan’s TPCC plans maintenance shutdown at MA plant on 20 Dec

SINGAPORE (ICIS)—Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC) plans to shut its 40,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) plant at Kaohsiung, Taiwan from 20 December to 10 January for regular maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

TPCC is currently running their MA plant at 90% capacity, the source said.

The company will pre-stock their inventory to minimise the impact on supply during their shutdown, the source said. In addition, the shutdown period is scheduled at a period when demand typically slows down, hence there will be minimal impact on the market’s supply-demand balance, the source added.

TPCC will be carrying out maintenance at around the same period for other plants in Kaohsiung such as their phenol, bisphenol A (BPA) and acetone plants, the source said.
