SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Changling Co has restarted its aromatics unit at Yueyang in Hunan province of Central China on 23 November, a company source said on Friday.
The plant was shut down from 23 October for a scheduled maintenance, according to the source.
"The toluene and xylene prices of Central China market will be soft because of supply increases," a trader said.
Domestic toluene prices were assessed at yuan (CNY) 10,300/tonne ($1,651/tonne) ex-tank central China on 23 November, unchanged from last Friday, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
Domestic xylene prices were assessed at CNY9,550-9,600/tonne ex-tank central China on 23 November, down by CNY50/tonne at the low end of the range from CNY9,600/tonne on 16 November, the data showed.
