HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF officials were not available for comment on Monday regarding the shutdown of a butadiene (BD) unit, because of a leak, at the company's Port Arthur, Texas, facility.
Emissions caused by the leak were routed to the flare stack, according to a report filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The event lasted 24 hours, starting at 11:00 hours local time on 20 November, the TCEQ report said.
BASF uses BD in the production of nylon 6.
