US ethylene trades up 1% amid talk of cracker problems

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US spot ethylene traded higher on Tuesday amid talk that two crackers in Texas were having operational problems.

Ethylene for November traded at 51.375 cents/lb ($1,133/tonne, €872/tonne), up by 1.2% from a deal done at 50.750 cents/lb on Monday.

December ethylene was heard bid at 50.75 cents/lb, on the high end of deals done at 50.625-50.750 cents/lb the previous day.

The monomer was offered at 52.000 cents/lb for December delivery.
