GPCA ’12: Saudi Arabia's Mattex to commission Al Jubail staple fibre unit

DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi Arabian converter Mattex Group plans to commission its staple fibre plant in Al Jubail in early December, a company source said on Tuesday.

The staple fibre unit has a converting capacity of 17,000-18,000 tonnes/year for the conversion of polypropylene (PP) resins, the source said on the sidelines of the 7th Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA).

Staple fibres are used in geotextiles, the source added.

The three-day 7th GPCA forum will end on 29 November.
