SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Kolon Plastics has reduced its operating rate at its 65,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) unit at Kyonghuk, located in Gumi, South Korea, to 50% capacity from 100% in November, a company source said.
The reasons for the reduction were not specified.
However, many sellers and buyers in the market were not concerned, saying it was probably because of weak demand.
POM is widely used in electronic, electrical, communications, fibre optics and automotive industries.
