HOUSTON (ICIS)--Consumption of US jet fuel increased for the week ended 23 November as stockpiles fell, a government agency’s report showed on Wednesday.
Jet fuel inventories fell by 1.4m bbl to 41.1m bbl, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Higher consumption rates contributed to the drawdown in stockpiles. For the week ended 23 November, jet fuel consumption was at 1.465m bbl/day, up from the previous week’s rate of 1.267m bbl/day.
An increase in US Thanksgiving holiday air travellers helped to boost consumption rates that week.
Production of US jet fuel fell slightly, dropping by 33,000 bbl/day to 1.339m bbl/day.
