Distribution points will be in New Hyde Park, Port Chester and near Brookhaven in New York, as well as in Whippany, New Jersey.
The four locations will offer access for blending biodiesel to increase regional heating oil and diesel supplies, the company said.
Biodiesel is available onsite in New Hyde Park, allowing area distributors and heating oil retailers to increase supply as the New York City biodiesel blend requirement becomes reinstated on 1 December, REG said.
The requirement first went into effect 1 October but was waived as a result of tight fuel supply issues due to Hurricane Sandy.
REG has about 225m gal/year production capacity at biorefineries across the country.
Biodiesel is an alternative fuel, produced from renewable resources. The most commonly used feedstocks are rapeseed, soy and palm oil.
