NEW YORK (ICIS)--North America refiner Ergon announced the expansion of its subsidiary refining facility at Newell, West Virginia to handle growing regional crude oil production as drilling activities continue to increase throughout the Marcellus and Utica Shale areas, a company official confirmed on Thursday.
Ergon plans to invest at least $78m to add capacity in its refinery processing units and supporting infrastructure, said Jim Temple of Ergon.
The majority of these projects will be completed during the second quarter 2013, with the remaining to continue into 2014.
Ergon produces 26,800 bbl/day of base oils combined at its plants in Vicksburg, Mississippi and Newel, Virginia.
