LONDON (ICIS)--OMV has appointed Gerhard Wagner to head its refining and petrochemicals site at Burghausen in Germany’s Bavaria state, the Austrian oil and petrochemicals major said on Friday.

In addition, Wagner will be general manager of OMV’s business in Germany, it said.

Wagner succeeds Thomas Gangl in those roles. Gangl will take over responsibility for OMV’s “Asset Development” at headquarters in Vienna.

The moves, effective 1 January 2013, are part of a regular rotation of OMV senior executives, the company said.

Wagner currently heads OMV’s Schwechat refining site near Vienna, a role he assumed in 2008. Before that he was head of production at OMV’s refinery in Burghausen.
