NEW YORK (ICIS)--Pemex is planning to increase its base oil production capacity in 2013, according to Jorge Ramirez, CEO of Raloy Lubricants of Mexico, speaking on Friday at the ICIS 8th Pan-American Base Oils conference.

“Pemex confirms it will increase its base oils production to grow to 5,200 bbl/day by 2013,” Ramirez said.

According to the speaker, Pemex  has 4,000 bbl/day production capacity for Group I base oils in Mexico.

The additional capacity is included in a Pemex project known as 'Residual Conversion at Salamanca', and is part of strategic plans to increase the plant's economic performance.
