HOUSTON (ICIS)--Braskem’s PVC plant in Camacari is back in full production after maintenance that started early last week, a source from the Brazilian company said on Friday.
A power outage in late October resulted in continuing technical issues at the facility, which were resolved during the recent shutdown, the Braskem source said.
The cause of the October outage was a fire at a substation transformer, which resulted in a controlled shutdown affecting several states in northeastern Brazil, according to government officials.
At end-November, resin inventories are very low throughout the production chain because existing stocks were drawn down during the maintenance.
However, inventories are expected to reach normal levels in December as the Camacari plant is now functioning normally, local sources said.
