HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chevron Phillips Chemical has restarted its Sweeny 22 cracker in Texas after a brief maintenance stoppage, market sources said on Monday.

The 295,000 tonne/year plant was shut down early last week for what sources said was expected to be a 4-5 day outage.

A company spokesperson last week declined to comment on the shutdown, citing policy.

Chevron Phillips has two other crackers in Sweeny with a combined 1.58m tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.
