TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese chemical and fibre producer Teijin has started commercial production at its new pilot plant for the fully integrated production of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) components at its Matsuyama factory, it said on Tuesday.
The company did not state the production capacity of the plant, however.
The plant features Teijin’s proprietary mass-production technology for CFRTP components, which enables the integrated manufacturing process from carbon fibre to molded composite products within one minute, the producer said.
This was an ideal time required by automakers for vehicle mass production, Teijin added.
With its new pilot plant, Teijin aims to accelerate collaboration with automotive makers worldwide, the producer said.
