SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC) plans to shut its chlor-alkali units at Mesaieed Industrial City in February 2013 for around 20 days of maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The facilities include a 730,000 liquid metric tonne (lmt)/year caustic soda, 500,000 tonne/year ethylene dichloride (EDC) and 300,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) units.

As a result, the company will not have any spot cargo availability for the time being, according to the source.
