MELBOURNE (ICIS)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) has started sales of ethyl acetate (etac) from its new 50,000 tonne/year at Bharuch in Gujarat state, a company official said on Wednesday.

Sales began soon after the company achieved on-spec output in early November, the official said.

“The plant is running well,” the official said.

The operating rate of the plant, which is at approximately 70% capacity, will be ramped up in the coming year, he added.

Other etac manufacturers in India include Jubilant Life Sciences, Laxmi Organic Industries, Somaiya Group and Dhampur Alco Chem.
