SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Nanjing Zhongshan Chemical has completed building a polyether polyols unit, as well as a surfactant unit, at a new site in Jiangsu province, a company source said on Wednesday.
The company built a new 200,000 tonne/year polyether polyols plant at Nanjing Chemical Park to replace its 130,000 tonne/year unit in downtown Qixia district of Nanjing because of environmental concerns, the source said.
It also built a new 100,000 tonne/year agrochemical surfactant unit at the site.
Nanjing Zhongshan Chemical has invested a total of yuan (CNY)1.5bn to build the two plants, the source said.
Commissioning of the plants was started in November, the source said.
The old polyether polyols plant in Qingxia will be shut when the new plant becomes operational in end-December, the source said.
