INEOS reports emissions from Texas olefins unit

HOUSTON (ICIS)--INEOS reported benzene emissions from its Chocolate Bayou 2 cracker in Texas, citing a level indicator malfunction in a public filing on Friday.

Emissions associated with the event were expected to last until 8 December, the company said in the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

The cracker has 885,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.

INEOS has a second unit in Chocolate Bayou with 907,000 tonnes/year of capacity.
