China’s Jining Jinwei Coal & Electricity restarts caustic soda plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jining Jinwei Coal & Electricity has restarted its 360,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant in Shandong on 10 December, a company source said on Monday.

The maintenance began on 5 December and lasted for five days, according to the source.

Spot caustic soda prices in Shandong were assessed at yuan (CNY) 2,063-2,188/tonne ($331-351/tonne) for 32% liquid membrane caustic soda, CNY2,188-2,292/tonne for 48% liquid membrane caustic soda and CNY3,000-3,150/tonne for 99% solid caustic soda, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
